Chelsea will sign £52 million FIFA World Cup player soon. Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan defenderin January, according to Corriere Dello Sport. The Netherlands’ full-back has excelled throughout the FIFA World Cup 2022. During the summer transfer window, Dumfries was also mentioned in connection with the London-based team.
Regarding being associated with the Blues, he recently remarked to The Athletic, “Of course, it’s a praise.” However, wearing a Nerazzurri shirt is also a huge praise. I play for a very, very nice club in Italy, but I’m currently concentrating on the national team. I am only concerned with the national team and Inter because I am so proud that I can play for Inter. For the Oranje in the round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Dumfries was a standout performance. The team led by Louis van Gaal defeated the United States 3-1. During the game, Dumfries had two assists and one goal.
Reece James is already available for Chelsea to use as a right-sided full-back. There aren’t any obvious backups, though. Neither Dumfries nor James have the same artistic background as Cesar Azpilicueta. Dumfries may therefore be a solid addition for the Blues. The player is presently worth £52 million to Inter Milan. That amount is still within Todd Boehly’s team’s means in January. But they are unwilling to include a loan return to the Serie A team in the agreement.
Regarding the Chelsea rumors, Denzel Dumfries comments to David Ornstein, “Of course, it’s a tremendous compliment to be linked with Chelsea, but playing for Inter is also a big compliment. Chelsea may postpone their pursuit until the next summer as a result. James’ backup option for the Blues may be Dumfries. James and he are even able to play together. James is prepared to play on a three-man defense’s right side. If Graham Potter wants to start both James and Dumfries, he might play Dumfries in the wing-back position.
