In the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, Chelsea drew 1-1 with Real Madrid at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Tuesday night. The match had two goals scored in the whole 90 mins, both teams netted one goal each. Goalscorers for the night were Christian Pulisic from Chelsea and Karim Benzema from Real Madrid.   • Pulisic became the first American footballer to score a goal in the Champions League semi-finals.
  • Real Madrid failed to defend here and the lack of chemistry between Zidane’s men was noticeable.
  • Karim Benzema was quite close to shot a goal in the 22nd minute but the ball grazes the wrong side of the post.
  • Real Madrid made an equalizer with Karim Benzema’s goal in the 29th minute.
  • Following this Madrid picked up the pace.
  • The winning goals were scored in the first half.
  • After the break, both teams tried hard to defeat their opponent but failed to hit the net.

The next and the final leg of the Champions League semi-finals is important for Chelsea and Real Madrid. The Blues will host the second leg at Stamford Bridge on 6th May 2021. The winner of the next match will move to the finals which will be held in Istanbul where they will face Manchester City or PSG
