Chelsea most active club to sign Antoine Griezmann

In pursuit of Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann, Chelsea has been described as the most active’ club this summer. Barcelona is willing to retain the signature of Griezmann but as part of their efforts to re-sign Lionel Messi, club officials are willing to let him go. Messi’s new contract at Camp Nou is on hold until Barcelona can reduce their salary cap.

Rumors of a return to Atletico Madrid have circulated, but according to Sport Witness, Barcelona is hoping to send Griezmann to a club outside of Spain, which is where Chelsea comes in. lately, to sign Griezmann the Blues are said to have made the biggest push. The London club is highly interested to sign the 30-year-old on loan for the 2021/22 season. Since winning the Champions League last season Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea has been heavily linked with big names.

Barcelona would prefer a permanent move but has accepted that it will not happen, and they are so desperate to cut their wages that they are willing to let Griezmann go on loan as long as his buyer agrees to pay 100% of his wages. Chelsea is rumored to be looking for a new striker this summer and Daily Star reported that Barcelona was willing to offer Antoine Griezmann to the London club.

According to La Vanguardia, Griezmann is aware of Barcelona’s financial situation and is no longer opposed to leaving Camp Nou if the right offer comes along, hence he will soon make the final decision. The 30-year-old Greizmann has been associated with a transfer from Barcelona to Manchester United, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Liverpool, but nothing concrete has so far materialized.
