Chelsea is linked to sign Kai Havertz but if they fail to reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen, they will reportedly concentrate on signing Jonathan Ikone from Lille.
Over a deal for Havertz, who’s supposedly keen to drive a move to Stamford Bridge through, the Blues remains locked in negotiations with Leverkusen.
However, the longer discussions drag on the more likely Chelsea is to look elsewhere and Ikone is considered as an alternative option according to Le 10 Sport.
From last term attacking midfield three goals and six Ligue 1 assists were registered by four-cap France International Ikone, previously known as Borussia Dortmund’s target.
Lille is expected to value the 22-year-old at around £32m mark – a significant saving on the £90m Leverkusen is after the flexible Havertz fellow attacker.
At the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Ikone spent the last two seasons after spells with Montpellier and Paris Saint-Germain where he started his career.
