It is stated that Chelsea is on the verge of finalizing the paperwork comprised in RB Leipzig’s transfer to Timo Werner.
The Blues had activated the release clause for the player as reported on Thursday night, which was said to be in the £54 m regions.
However, Leipzig ‘s sporting director, Oliver Mintzlaff, withheld that there is an agreement with Chelsea that must formally meet the payment required by June 15.
However, advising no blip in the process, a journalist from Sky Sport said the Premier League outfit appears to remain in line to sign the 24-year-old, with Fabrizio Romano.
Romano said on Twitter: “No contracts exchanged and nothing officially signed as told today by Leipzig’s director, but Chelsea has a ‘verbal agreement’ with Timo Werner and they’re convinced he’s on his way to Stamford Bridge for next season. Paperworks are nearly ready.”
Contributing 29 goals and 10 assists, Werner has enjoyed an outstanding campaign in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
