After 14 years the Cadiz footballers managed to return to the first Spanish football league, before the end of the competition in the second league they secured one of the first two places leading directly in the Primera two rounds.

Cadiz was “helped” by Sunday’s home defeat of third-placed Real from Zaragoza, although he lost at home to Fuenlabrada on Saturday.

Zaragoza lost to the namesake from Oviedo 2-4.

Thus, two rounds before the end, Cadiz remained on an unattainable seven-point advantage over Zaragoza, while from the fourth Almeria they have nine points more with a game more, but also a better ratio in mutual meetings.

While the positions leading to the playoffs along with the third Zaragoza and fourth Almeria are also the fifth Girona with 60 and the sixth Fuenlabrada with 57 points, Segunda, the second place that also leads directly in the Primera is held by Huesca with 64 points.

Cadiz was a permanent member of the Primera Division from 1985 to 1993, but the only season he played in the company of the best in 2005/06 in the last 27 years.
