Buffon played 1100th football match and 679th for Juventus

Gigi Buffon, who turned 43 on January 28, recorded a history yesterday, not only for his first game since turning 43 but for his 1,100th professional football match.

Opta points out that this is the 1,100th game between club and country in Buffon’s professional career.

The goalkeeper played for Juventus against Inter in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final. And with this, he made his Juventus’ 679th outing.

This is in comparison to Parma 220, Paris Saint-Germain 25, and Italy 176.
