Brighton came back from two goals down to beat Manchester City 3-2 in front of 8000 Brighton fans at the Amex Stadium. Brighton gave Manchester City the traditional guard of honor before the match. Ilkay Gundogan gave the visitors the lead with less than two minutes on the clock with a clinical header at the back post. City right-back Joao Cancelo was then sent off after just nine minutes. He was adjudged to have denied Danny Welbeck a clear goal-scoring opportunity on the edge of the Manchester City box. City played the rest of the half in cruise control.
Just after the break, teenage sensation Phil Foden scored a brilliant solo goal to give the Premier League champions a 2-0 lead. Leandro Trossard then scored to halve the deficit before Adam Webster rose above the City defence to head home the equalizer. Buoyed by the home fans, Brighton kept up the pressure and were rewarded when Dan Burn scored. It was his first goal in 60 appearances for the club.

have to improve for the final.” he said. “On Sunday, with our people, we are going to lift the trophy. And after, we are going to go for the final of the Champions League. I am concerned because this is the final of the Champions League because the opponent is so tough.”
