Barcelona’s Gerard Pique has declared retirement – After a distinguished career, Gerard Pique of Barcelona confirmed his retirement on Thursday. My final game at Camp Nou will be on Saturday against Almeria, the 35-year-old wrote on Twitter. With three Champions League victories for his team, the 2010 World Cup, and Euro 2012 with Spain, the defender leaves the game. In a short clip of the athlete viewing pictures of himself as a little child sporting the Barcelona jersey or pursuing autographs, he stated, “I wanted to tell you that I’ve decided the moment has come to conclude this trip.

After Barcelona, there is no other team, he continued. I’m going to support the squad and make my son aware of how much I love Barcelona. And sooner or later, he added, “I’ll be back.” Pique, who arrived at Camp Nou at the age of 10, left his hometown for Manchester United’s academy in 2004 and won his first Champions League championship in 2008 under Alex Ferguson, the team’s manager at the time. Upon his return to Catalonia, he assisted Barça in winning three Champions League championships in 2009, 2011, and 2015, as well as eight La Liga championships, seven Copas del Rey championships, and eight La Liga championships overall.

Shakira, a superstar in Colombia, was formerly married to Pique. Shakira and Pique decided to end their more than ten-year relationship public in June. One of the biggest names in the world’s music industry, the 45-year-old “Hips don’t Lie” singer has sold more than 60 million albums. The couple had been living together on the outskirts of Barcelona for years and had two sons together.
