They have already made it known that if the opportunity to sign Messi arises, they will try to do so. Barcelona responds calmly to rumors about PSG signing Messi.

Barcelona believes and is confident that Messi would wait for a proposal from the Catalan club and will definitely appreciate it. President Joan Laporta intends to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland in order to convince Messi that the club is serious. Barcelona is also trying to influence Messi and make him understand that Catalonia is the best option for him, which is promised and inspiring project with plenty of young players.

It was reported earlier that PSG is giving Messi a 2+1 contract and are confident that money will not outbid him. It is also noted that PSG striker Neymar had kept his new contract on hold until now, given that he wants to play with Lionel Messi this season.

Mundo Deportivo quotes a Barcelona source explaining the club’s reaction to the news that PSG are preparing a contract for signing Messi: “Leo is the best player in the world whose contract is expiring and he has not yet signed a new deal with the club.”

Another source at the Catalan club commented on the situation: “They are trying to sign him, we have nothing to comment on. We are calm.”

The Argentine’s entourage claim Messi is anticipating offers from Barcelona. After the end of the season, negotiations will begin at that time Leo will make a final decision on his future. The 33-year-old has scored 25 goals and made nine assists in 30 La Liga games this season.
