Barcelona wants to avoid paying an extra £17m to Liverpool for Philippe Coutinho.

In January 2018, the Brazilian left Anfield for a large-money fee, the deal contained a number of conditions that had to be fulfilled in order for Liverpool to obtain the full fee.

The Merseyside giants will get £17 m if the playmaker hits 100 games for the La Liga outfit in all competitions, According to Marca.

Already when they are worried about how to balance the books, club officials are against Coutinho making 24 outings that would trigger the clause.

With Coutinho already collecting £12 million a year’s salary, he leaves Barcelona under pressure to find a buyer for the 27-year-old, something that has yet to materialize as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Bayern Munich has no plan as such of signing their current loanee on a permanent contract later in 2020.
