Barcelona and Arsenal are in the race for Evan N’Dicka. According to German network SPORT1, Barcelona is interested in signing defender Evan N’Dicka of Eintracht Frankfurt, who has also been linked to a transfer to Arsenal. Due to their financial limitations, Barcelona has signed several players on free transfers in the last two years. Before the 2022–23 season, they made a notable acquisition of four players, including Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.

The Blaugrana seem to be keeping an eye on the free agency market this year to bolster their team. According to reports, they have already located one such target in the Bundesliga. The aforementioned source claims that Barcelona is interested in N’Dicka of Eintracht Frankfurt. He appears to be the top choice for the Catalans to improve their defense options the next summer.

N’Dicka has been a player for Eintracht Frankfurt since he transferred there from the French side AJ Auxerre in 2018 for about €6 million. Since then, he has made 162 appearances for the club in all leagues, helping to contribute to 20 goals.

The France Under-21 international’s deal with the Bundesliga team expires after the current campaign, though. He is alleged to have told his employers that he does not want to keep his current employment arrangement.

Thus, Barcelona may be able to sign the left-sided central defender for free before the start of the following campaign. However, Eintracht Frankfurt is still holding out hope that they can persuade him to sign a new contract with them. According to the source, Markus Krosche, the German club’s sporting director, is eager to persuade N’Dicka to reconsider his mind. Despite having his heart set on a transfer, the footballer may decide to remain in Frankfurt.

If the report is to be believed, N’Dicka’s winter transfer is not being considered. This month, Sevilla is rumored to have expressed interest in signing him, but neither the player nor his team is willing to move quickly.
