Mbappe’s late equaliser rescues a point for France. Austria imposed themselves quickly on the visitors and made it an uncomfortable first half for Didier Deschamps’ side.

They prevented France from creating any real chances, before scoring with a clinical break of their own through Weimann.

However, France were much-improved after the interval. Coman and Benzema both missed chances, before the introduction of Mbappe changed the game.

The attacker slotted in a superb late equaliser, before hitting the bar late on as France pushed for a winner.

Nevertheless, Austria defended with determination and held on for a 1-1 draw.

GOALL! MBAPPE! 1-1. France equalise. Konate races out the back and finds Mbappe, who plays a rapid one-two with Nkunku, before collecting the return pass and lashing a fierce finish in at the near post from 12 yards!
