Bergamo Atalanta will not use the buyout option on centre-back Mattia Caldara, who is currently on loan from Milan for the Boginja at this point of the season, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira

Orobici coach Gian Piero Gasperini has not seen an opportunity to integrate the 26-year-old into his squad since transferring Mattia at the start of 2020. As a result, under his belt, this season the player has only eight games (113 minutes).

The player reached his peak transfer value of €25m, while still playing for the Rossoneri, according to Transfermarkt. His current value on the market is €6m.

Caldara will have two more years remaining on his agreement with the club following his return to Milan.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
