Officially, Atalanta has been given the all-clear signal to play their Champions League games against Ajax, Liverpool, and Midtjylland in Bergamo.
Since La Dea first started climbing up the ranks of Italian and European football several years ago, their home fixtures in UEFA tournaments have been played elsewhere due to stadium insufficiencies.
Last season they were either in Reggio-Emilia’s Mapei Stadium, used by Sassuolo, or in Milan’s Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
The Gewiss Stadium has now been given the all-clear to host football in the Champions League, over the past years it underwent radical restructuring work.
Atalanta confirmed the first Group D arena match will be against Ajax on October 27, followed by Liverpool on November 3.
The group’s final home fixture is on December 1, with Midtjylland.
