Arsenal is set to face Brighton on Sunday for a Premier League match hoping Tottenham and Everton to lose points if they are to finish seventh, the Gunners are still in contention for Europa Conference League qualification. Brighton has a lot less to play for than Manchester City, but they showed they can still fight after coming back from 2-0 down to defeat them on Tuesday night. Here’s everything you need to know about Arsenal vs Brighton Premier League match.

Team news

Arsenal lineup: Leno, Tierney, Gabriel, Holding, Chambers, Saka, Partey, Elneny, Smith Rowe, Aubameyang, Pepe

In Arsenal’s last two games Nicolas Pepe has three goals and should be a shoo-in to start the season’s final match.

In Arsenal’s starting lineup on Sunday Martin Odegaard is expected to return and this might be his last game for the club.

On the home side, Gabriel Martinelli and Alexandre Lacazette are both pushing for recalls.

Granit Xhaka will be looking to retake his starting spot on Sunday, and he was fit enough to start against Palace.

David Luiz is leaving this summer, and Hector Bellerin might be next in line. Both of these points raise serious concerns.

Brighton lineup: Sanchez, White, Webster, Burn, Bissouma, Mac Allister, Gross, Moder, Jahanbakhsh, Alzate, Welbeck.

Neal Maupay will miss another match for Brighton and Lewis Dunk will return to the team after serving a two-match suspension.

After injuring his hamstring early in Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over Manchester City, Danny Welbeck has been ruled out of a reunion with former club Arsenal.

Leandro Trossard made an outstanding goal against City and now he is also expected to return to the starting XI for the final game of the season.

January signing, Moises Caicedo, will almost certainly get his first taste of Premier League action at some stage.

Prediction

With four straight victories, Arsenal ended the season strongly and is possible to finish seventh only if Leicester defeats Tottenham and Manchester City defeats Everton, as well as if they defeat Brighton.

Brighton are currently in 16th place and could finish as high as 13th. Since their promotion to the Premier League in 2017, Brighton has dominated Arsenal.

Out of the seven meetings, three have ended in a draw, while two have ended in a win for the Seagulls.

However, Arsenal won the most recent match, a 1-0 win at the Amex Stadium shortly after Christmas, when substitute Alexandre Lacazette made an immediate impact.

Arsenal can be expected to win 1-0 again this weekend.

Our Prediction: Arsenal 1 – 0 Brighton

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
