Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta changed the game as per David Moyes. David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, has talked about working with Mikel Arteta when they were both at Everton in the middle of the 2000s. Arteta made a loan move to the Toffees in January 2005 before making a permanent move in the summer. He played for Everton and Moyes for more than 200 games before departing to join Arsenal in 2011, the club he now manages.

When asked about signing Arteta at a recent press conference, Moyes responded as follows: “When signing players, you can occasionally be unsure. I got the opportunity to witness Mikel play for Glasgow Rangers and he had done absolutely fine. However, we had been keeping an eye on him and my staff had advised against taking him, so they handled the situation extremely well. So, we borrowed him from another team. At first, he was a little sluggish to get going, but once he did, he really started to shine for us. Things that happen to you while you’re a football club player can occasionally transform you. The players alter it. The players also influence culture in a little way.”

On Boxing Day, Arsenal will host Moyes and West Ham in their first Premier League match back after the 2022 World Cup. The Hammers are currently in 16th place, one point above the bottom three, while the Gunners are currently in the first place. The Gunners presently lead Manchester City by five points in the Premier League standings, and their Spanish boss won’t want to see that margin shrink when playing a familiar opponent.
