An unidentified player who tested positive for COVID-19 in the first round of medical testing was put in quarantine, confirmed Torino.

Retaining social distance controls, Series A-sides were given the green signal to resume individual training this week. Both players and staff are screened for swabs and blood tests, before opening the door.

According to Football Italia, during the initial screening, Torino found one of its players tested positive for COVID-19.

The club has kept the player’s name anonymous and stated that he was put in isolation without any delay though he has shown no symptoms.

“After an initial medical examination, one of our players has tested positive for COVID-19. The player, currently asymptomatic, has been immediately quarantined and will be constantly monitored in the upcoming days.”

This is the first real test of the medical procedure and the resumption of the 2019-20 Series A season, as the nightmare scenario was a positive test match.

The government created a scientific committee and asked the entire team to be quarantined for 14 days while the medical procedure had only one player.

The German Government and the Bundesliga introduced a plan which would only isolate the player or the member of staff who tested positive, Italy must continue to focus on the plan.
