PSG and Marseille ended up in a brawl with Neymar claiming an opponent had racially abused him.
Andre Villas-Boas believes Angel Di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain spat on one of his players during a chaotic end of their fight with Marseille.
Alvaro would not have committed such an offense, claims Marseille coach, although he insisted that if such abuse happened, it was a serious problem.
Alvaro had previously accused Angel Di Maria of spitting at him.
“I don’t know. I hope not, there’s no place for racism in football,” said Villas-Boas in an interview to Telefoot.
“It’s a serious mistake if it happens but I don’t think so. We had an incident with a Di Maria spit before that.”
“It’s a thing we have to avoid in the football world. I hope this historic performance won’t be a black spot.”
