Manager Janne Andersson had his say when Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently hinted at a return to the national side of Sweden.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic must show he desires to represent Sweden again till head coach Janne Andersson considers recalling the in-form Milan striker.

“Long time no see”, the 39-year-old recently hinted he is ready to end his international retirement.

“First, it is necessary that he himself wants to be involved in the national team project,” Andersson told Aftonbladet. “In 2016 he told me clearly he no longer wants to be part of it.”

“I respected his choice then and over the years since. He has to be the one who says he wants to come back. If that is the case, it will then be up to me to decide.”

“We haven’t seen each other for a while,” Andersson said. “I don’t follow him on social media, but in any case, I don’t care what he says on there or how he says it.”

“I know what he told me and what we agreed when he left the national team. Since then, nothing has changed from my perspective.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
