Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti declined to blame the official for the one very contentious decision of the game, though he was malcontent with the work of referee Lee Mason in the 1-1 draw at home to Southampton.

The official just gave a yellow card to Bednarek who appeared to be the last defender, and VAR decided that the violation did not merit a red card.

“I don’t want to judge the episode single.” the Italian said at his press conference.

“The referee’s performance was just like my team, not so good. The performance was not on top in general.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
