On the evening’s 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion by Huddersfield Town’s Premier League courtesy, Leeds United has been promoted back.

On Marcelo Bielsa’s side, The result leaves five points clear of second-placed West Brom, who now are six points above third-placed Brentford with two games left of their campaign and have only one game left of their season.

Therefore, Championship leaders Leeds can no longer be caught by the Baggies, who now need to be crowned champions just one more point from the final two games-or to drop points for Brentford.

16-years wait for a return to the Premier League of the Leeds comes to an end -just three years after reaching the Champions League semi-finals, the longest joint gap between relegation and promotion in the record of the competition-which was relegated in 2004.

Financial problems headed to the initial relegation of Leeds and continued to overrun the club some years later, dropping to League One for three seasons between 2007-08 and 2009-10.

The Whites, who were three times crowned England champions and most recently in 1991-92, are next in action on Sunday afternoon away to Derby County.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
